Happy St. Patrick’s Day Weekend! To get in the spirit, this week's Lore Spotlight is all about Luck! What’s a time you got seriously lucky or unlucky while playing tabletop? Leave your response in the comments below, we’d love to hear it! Without further adieu, let’s hop into today’s Lore Spotlight!

On Zale, Luck can take the extraordinary and make it ordinary; it can also take the extremely unlikely, and turn it into reality. Luck is more than just a figment of chance and fortune. Some people are just born lucky, and others are lucky to be born. While the average person may not have more or less luck than others, people who are extremely lucky or unlucky are known to exist as a phenomenon in the world. For example, someone who manages to narrowly escape the attention of great monsters is extremely lucky while, on the opposite end, someone who always slips-up due to events out of their own control is considered extremely unlucky.
So where does this Luck come from? Luck is an oddly tangible concept in War & Aether – wherein people do seem to have better or worse luck than others, and that luck continues and persists throughout their life. Some believe it is due to the magical energies of the Aether, bestowing luck on any given individual. Others believe it is a mystical energy field that surrounds, binds, and penetrates all living things. To these people, religions such as the Whims of Fate are born in order to give clarity and explanation to the otherwise inexplicable. To those who follow the Whims of Fate, it is simply the Whims of the universe who decide those who have everything working for them, and those who have everything working against them. But all in all, Luck is more than just chance on the world of Zale.
