Where can I play-test the ZG Studios games?
If you're looking for a chance to try a game first-hand before you buy, ZG Studios runs demos for our games about once or twice a month. You can always check our Events Calendar and see where and when the next Demo is taking place!
What can I expect during a Demo Day?
A demonstration of course! We'll answer any questions you have about the game, and let you take a first-hand look at any products and supporting documents. Then we can also take you through a playable demo with pre-generated characters. If it's your first time playing the game or tabletops in general, the experience can be catered to your skill level, from newcomers to min-maxed veterans!
Can I bring my family or friends?
Not only can you bring your family and friends, it's encouraged! We strongly believe that tabletops can be played and enjoyed by anyone, no matter their age or background; and we can personally adjust the contents, details, or wording used during our demo days to make it more appropriate for players of all ages. While there's only so many sets of dice and pencils to go around, we can support any party size as small as a single player, or chaotic groups of eight or larger! Friends and family are highly encouraged, and we can adjust the contents of your demo experience as need be, or on request!
How long do Demos last?
There are two answers to this question.
1) Demo Days themselves typically last three hours. There are exceptions for specialty events or conventions, but Demos usually take up a three hour time slot that anyone can hop in and play!
2) The play-time itself for the Demo is typically as short as 20-30 minutes, but it can be as long as players want! We've had people sit in and run through a quick encounter, and we've had others sit for the full 3-hours where we take them through their own handcrafted mini adventure! While demos are typically 3 hours, anyone can stay for as long, or as short, as they want!
Do I need to bring anything to a Demo Day?
Nope! ZG Studios provides all of the material you'll need to play and run the demo game. However, that isn't to discourage you from bringing your own materials! Got some shiny clickety-clack math rocks to show off? Bring'em in! We love seeing player's bring in their own dice, and give us inspiration for irresponsible purchases!
